Friends, family of slain Ottawa teen raising money for reward

The friends and family of a murdered Ottawa teen are hoping a cash reward will bring out tips about the suspected killer.

18-year-old Brandon Volpi was stabbed outside a downtown hotel on the morning after his prom.

A Canada-wide arrest warrant was issued for 18-year-old Devontay Hackett in connection with the case.

Volpi's friends and family say they're planning a fundraising barbecue, to be held in the near future.

They hope a reward will encourage someone to come forward with info that would lead to Hackett's arrest.
