Deliberations begin in trial of suspected terrorist

An 11-person jury will be deciding the fate of an Ottawa man, who stands accused of terrorism-related charges. Deliberations began Wednesday.

30-year-old Misbahuddin Ahmed has pleaded not guilty to conspiring to facilitate terrorist activity, participating in the activities of a terrorist group, and possession of an explosive device.

He could be facing anywhere from 10 years to life in prison if he's convicted of one or all of those charges.

Ahmed was arrested and charged four years ago following an RCMP anti-terrorist investigation, which nabbed two other alleged co-conspirators.
