After two years of delays, the Strandherd-Armstrong Bridge connecting Barrhaven and Riverside South is finally set to open.
A grand opening ceremony will be held at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday.
Deputy Mayor Steve Desroches will be joined by Mayor Jim Watson for the official ceremony on the east-side of the bridge.
The $48-million project suffered from several development problems including the initial contractor going into receivership and welding issues.
The bridge will have eight lanes for traffic including public transit, two bike paths and two sidewalks.
