Ottawa OPP officer charged with theft, resisting arrest

An Ottawa OPP officer has been charged with theft under $5000 and resisting arrest following an investigation by members of the OPP Professional Standards Bureau.

Police say it was launched after 37-year-old Constable Dennis Hill was arrested at the Walmart in Carleton Place on June 22nd.

The 13-year member of the service was not on duty at the time.

Hill - who is currently on leave - will appear in Perth court on August 18th.
