Getting to TD Place for tonight's RedBlacks home opener doesn't have to be a nightmare. There are several options for getting to the game including cycling, OC Transpo and shuttle buses.
Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group CEO Bernie Ashe said they have spent months on a transportation strategy, including reaching out to every season ticket holder with individual strategies.
In order for the system to work 60 per cent of fans have to take advantage of the free transportation.
"What we want to make sure everybody does is that they prepare the trip. Go to our website, RedBlacks.com or the OC Transpo website, they'll get to the same map and on that map, pick the event ... click on the lot you want to drive to and that's where the departure times are," said Ashe.
He said some sites have service that starts at 4 p.m. and others begin at 5p.m.
OC Transpo service is free with a gameday ticket for three hours both before and after the game and shuttle service is free with a ticket.
The shuttles leave from four nearby parking lots and OC Tranpspo has trips from select park and rides.
