The redeveloped Jules Morin Park was officially opened Saturday by Mayor Jim Watson and city councillors for the Lowertown area.
The park, located at 400 Clarence Street, has been renovated and equipped with a number of new recreational features. These include a wading pool, a mini-soccer field, a playground and a picnic area. Enhancements also include a paved pathway with lighting, seating and more trees.
Earlier this year, the park was augmented with the newly constructed Jules Morin Park Fieldhouse and an outdoor ice rink donated by the Ottawa Senators.
The redevelopment plans were put together with considerable input from area residents.
