Sunday's home opener for Ottawa Fury FC at TD Place was certainly a success from an attendance point of view.
Fury staff announced that the 14,593 fans who packed the stadium to watch Ottawa Fury take on the New York Cosmos broke a modern-day record for the North American Soccer League.
It was the largest attendance for a single game in the League. The previous record was a little more than 13,000.
Ottawa Fury lost the match 1-nil to the Cosmos.
