Casino dealers vote to strike if no contract in place by July 31

350 casino dealers at Casino Lac Leamy could be walking off the job again very soon.

Dealers at Lac Leamy voted unanimously to strike July 31st if they don't have a new contract by then.

Patrick Desjardins with the union representing both casinos told CFRA last week dealers have been without a contract since April 1, 2013. He says negotiations hit a snag over administrative issues that cover day-to-day operations (i.e. scheduling) and they hadn't started talking about monetary issues.

Dealers held a one-day walkout Monday in the hopes of prompting management to return to the negotiating table.

Jean-Pierre Roy with Lotto Quebec told CFRA News mediation will be taking place from Tuesday to Friday with independent conciliators.

Roy says there's never been a strike at any Quebec casino.
