Canadian Museum of Nature cuts five positions

The Canadian Museum of Nature has cut five positions in order to help address a $500,000 budget shortfall.

John Swettenham, the acting acting vice president of experience and engagement at the museum told CFRA, four of the positions were in programming and the fifth in technical support.

"There will be a little bit of an impact, of course, on programming, because frankly we have less people," said Swettenham. "Two of the people were in management, so not in delivery of programs and we'll keep our most popular programming running."

The layoffs will help save around $440,000.
