A family of six will be displaced from their home after a balcony fire in Herongate.
Ottawa Fire crews got the call around 3:10 p.m. Friday for the blaze at a fourth floor apartment balcony on Cedarwood Drive.
Fire officials say there's smoke damage to the unit and a large window is blown out.
The Salvation Army has stepped in to help the couple and the four children.
No one has been injured in the fire. The mother and three of the children were home at the time napping but managed to get out safely.
Damage to the unit is pegged at $10,000-$15,000.
Fire officials suspect it was caused by an air conditioning unit in the window, but an investigator still has to confirm.
The family is not expected to be displaced for long.
