Highway 416 rollover sends one man to hospital

A man is recovering in hospital with minor injuries after being thrown out of his car on the southbound Highway 416.

Fire crews say he rolled his vehicle just north of Bankfield Road around 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Initially an air ambulance was requested but then called off after paramedics found the man conscious.

An off-duty firefighter was first to treat the man on scene; he was the only person in the car at the time of the rollover.

It's not clear if he was wearing a seatbelt.
