Hundreds of demonstrators marched through downtown Saturday afternoon in support of Palestine and to denounce Prime Minister Stephen Harper's support of Israel.
Chanting "Shame, shame Harper," in front of the Prime Minister's Office, and "Shame, shame, Obama," in front of the U.S. Embassy, most of the protesters say they're participating to denounce the countries' support for Israel.
"We're here to ask that Canada changes its policy and opposes Israel's continued bombardment and siege of Gaza," said one protester, Annamaria MacIntyre, as the rally began in front of the Human Rights Monument on Elgin Street.
Protesters briefly clashed with pro-Israel counter protesters draped in Israeli flags in the Byward Market.
A similar demonstration was held on Wednesday, although that event was smaller in scale.
