Casino Lac Leamy and dealers reach tentative agreement

A strike has been averted at Casino Lac Leamy.

CUPE, the union representing 350 casino dealers in Gatineau and 750 in Montreal, says an agreement has been reached in principle with Loto-Québec.

They reached the deal late Saturday night, averting a planned strike, which was set to take place July 31.

Dealers had been without a contract since March of 2013. They held a one-day walk-out in Gatineau and Montreal earlier in July. Casino management filled their positions for the day.

A press release by CUPE says the details of the agreement will be made public only after union members have a chance to vote on it.
