Residents living along the Rideau Canal say more needs to be done to help cyclists and pedestrians cross the busy driveways to get to the bike paths.
There is now a light on Queen Elizabeth and Fifth, but residents are worried about Colonel By and Clegg, an intersection that John Dance, the Chair of the Old Ottawa East Community Association, said is much more dangerous.
"There's twice as much traffic that flows on Colonel By versus Queen Elizabeth Drive," he said. "There's twice as much traffic and that was identified in the 2011 study that took five years to prepare."
National Capital Commission CEO Mark Kristmanson said they do have plans to build a pedestrian/cyclist crossing at Colonel By and Clegg.
That likely will happen next year.
