MacLeod pondering Tory leadership bid

Nepean-Carleton MPP Lisa MacLeod is considering making a bid for the Ontario PC leadership.

She tells CFRA she's received several letters and calls in the past month from political supporters who feel she should take that step.

"It does interest me, but at the same time there are no rules in place for a race. I have be diligent, prudent and responsible in waiting for the party to set those rules. Then I'll be in a better position to make a decision."

MacLeod feels the best time for the Tories to pick Tim Hudak's replacement would be between March and May next year.

The party is hosting a public consultation on leadership at the Marriott on Coventry from 6 to 8 Wednesday night.
