21-year-old charged with aggravated assault in Embassy Hotel stabbing

Ottawa Police have charged a 21-year-old man in the stabbing of a paraplegic outside the Embassy Hotel in the Golden Triangle.

Ibrahim Mugassabi, also a paraplegic, is facing aggravated assault charges and will appear in court some time today.

The 28-year-old victim in the case suffered multiple stab wounds to his chest.

Both the suspect and the victim were Libyan Civil War amputees receiving prosthetics treatment.
