Rideau Centre's new 'dining hall' opens to the public

A major milestone in the Rideau Centre's $360 million renovation will be unveiled Friday morning.

The new "dining hall" -- as they call it -- has its grand opening Friday at 11:00 a.m. You'll be able to grab lunch from any of the 16 restaurants opening in the new hall, including seven that are brand new to Ottawa.

In addition, plastic cutlery and paper plates are gone. The Rideau Centre's new scullery will provide shoppers will real dishes, glassware, and metal cutlery.

The new dining hall is on the second level of the mall, where the lower level of the Sears used to be.
