UPDATE: Gatineau driver charged in Highway 17 crash near Pembroke

A tractor trailer driver from Gatineau has been charged in connection with a two-vehicle crash on Highway 17, west of Pembroke, Sunday morning, that sent two people to hospital.

O.P.P. say a tractor-trailer and an S.U.V. collided west of Pembroke on Doran Road around 9:45 a.m.

Jean Labine, of Gatineau, Quebec, has been charged with failing to stop at a red light.

The Highway was closed in both directions between Forest Lea Road and Black Bay for about four hours.

Two people, a 33-year-old woman and her 44-year-old husband remain in hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries.
