Disabled man asks van thief to return customized vehicle

A disabled Ottawa man is appealing to the public after his customized van was stolen last week.

Motivational speaker Michael Lifshitz recently moved to the capital from Montreal. He parked his silver Sienna mini-van, which is customized to fit his wheelchair, on Lisgar Street between Bank Street and Kent Street last Wednesday.

When he returned to his van he said it was gone.

"This is not a van that, well, they can get another one. This is a specialized, adapted van that takes considerable effort to get adapted. So, I would ask that they have the courtesy to return that," said Lifshitz.

Lifshitz has filed a report with police.
