Three people homeless after west end fire

Three people are homeless after a fire ripped through a west-end home.

Ottawa Fire crews got a 911 call for a fire at 976 Arkell Street, in the west end, around 1:14 a.m. Thursday.

When they arrived, they found the house fully involved. A nearby car was also on fire.

They had the body of the fire knocked down by 2:03 a.m.

No one was hurt, however damages are estimated at $450,000, and the home will not be habitable.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
