After two recent deaths involving motorcycle collisions, Ottawa Police are reminding people to use proper safety precautions when riding their bikes on Ottawa's streets.
Sergeant Mark Gatien with Ottawa Police says drivers should also be cautious of motorcycles since it's hard for a driver to gauge how fast a bike is going on the road.
"They'll turn in front of you and there's not a lot of time. You have to brake hard," he said. "Sometimes that'll put you down. Sometimes you just don't make it as we've seen in some accidents."
Gatien says bikers should try and avoid potholes, especially when it's raining. He says that's because it's hard for a motorcycle driver to tell how deep a pothole is if it's filled with water.
