Fire crews in Embrun had to call for some backup to deal with a massive blaze at a country home on Saturday afternoon.
Six Ottawa Fire trucks and a number of firefighters from the capital helped put out a fire at the home on St. Guillome Road.
Flames spread to a barn on the property as well.
Embrun Fire officials say the home is a total loss as the blaze did $450,000 in damages.
No one was home when the fire broke out, the family was away at the cottage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
