Parents of hit and run victim continue to look for answers, one year later

On August 11, 2013, Mike Morlang, was walking along Frank Kenny Road near Navan around 5:30 a.m. when he was struck by a car heading north.

The car kept going, leaving Morlang dying on the road.

By the time police arrived the young man, who was one day away from his 31st birthday, was dead.

One year later and his parents continue to search for answers in their son's tragic death.

"You're always looking over your shoulder, you always wonder, is it the person I just met?" Kathy Morlang explained, speaking with CTV.

Mike's father, Brian Visneskie, said the waiting and not knowing is hard and it makes them wonder every time the phone rings.

They continue to be active in the case, putting up signs near the crash site asking anyone with information to come forward.

If you have information about the hit and run you can contact the Ottawa Police at 613-236-1222, ext. 2481 or Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477 (TIPS).
