Heatherington fire injures one firefighter

One firefighter is being treated for a cut to his hand following a fire in the south end this morning that caused 40-thousand dollars in damages.

Ottawa fire was called to 1455 Heatherington by an alarm company managing the home just after 10:30 and arrived to find smoke in the lobby and fire in the laundry room of the building.

No residents were injured in the blaze and all occupants are being sheltered on OC Transpo buses while crews finish clearing the building of fire.
