Off-duty firefighter, paramedic, two others rescue girl from submerged vehicle

Off-duty emergency workers helped to save a 17-year-old girl from a vehicle that went into the Tay River in Perth Friday.

Lanark OPP say it happened at about 10:50AM at the town's Riverside Drive.

A North Elmsley/Tay Valley firefighter and a Renfrew paramedic who weren't on the clock got the driver out with help from two other people.

The teen was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
