Gunshots fired on McCarthy Road near Hunt Club Sunday morning

Ottawa Police say they don't have much information to work with, but are investigating gunshots fired on McCarthy Road Sunday morning.

Police say they got 911 calls from residents in the 3200 block of McCarthy, reporting gunshots around 6a.m. Officers found shell casings in front of a home in a row of townhouses on McCarthy near Paul Anka Drive, just north of Hunt Club.

Police say the shots were fired at two houses, one was vacant and they’re still trying to piece together how the second home could be connected.

Police tell CFRA News, they don't have any witnesses and no one has come forward with information. They don’t believe there was a victim.

Police say the area isn’t known for a gang-problem and shootings can happen anywhere, at random.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Guns and Gangs Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5050 or Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477 (TIPS) or toll free at 1-800-222-8477.
