Residents at a home at 160 rue Georges in Buckingham were evacuated on Monday night as a precaution after a grenade was discovered in the woods behind the house.
Gatineau Police said they set up a perimeter in the area but that there were no road closures.
The grenade was discovered deep in the woods around 7:15 p.m.
Police called the Canadian Armed Forces to the scene to check on the potentially dangerous item.
It was removed from the woods early Tuesday morning.
Police say it was hollow and posed no threat.
