Ottawa Police say a 42-year-old pedestrian struck by a vehicle in Centretown last week has succumbed to his injuries.

The man was crossing the street at Catherine and Kent when he was hit by a car around 10:20 p.m. last Tuesday.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot, but was arrested shortly afterward.

Eric Brigden, 42, of Ottawa has been charged with failure to stop and taking a vehicle without consent.
