Capsule found in Timbits sparks Ottawa Public Health investigation

An Ottawa Public Health investigation has been launched after a clear capsule was found in a box of Timbits by an Ottawa woman.

The capsule, discovered in a pack of the mini-donuts bought at the Tim Hortons at Bank and Cooper on Wednesday, contained some kind of brownish powder.

Gillian MacDonald tells CTV Ottawa she and her friends had already taken a few bites when they saw the foreign object.

Tests may be needed to determine if there was any dangerous substance present.

Tim Hortons says they're taking the matter very seriously.
