Police investigate Barrhaven robbery

Ottawa Police are investigating a robbery and assault in Barrhaven.

Police say a woman in her mid 20's was walking alone when she was grabbed and brought to the ground by a man at the intersection of Fairlop Way and Wanstead Drive around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

The woman suffered significant, but non-life threatening injuries in the attack, and the suspect fled with her purse. She, meanwhile, got help from a nearby resident.

Police are looking for a man described as having tanned skin. He's in his 20's, and was wearing a short sleeved white T-shirt and shorts. He had short dark hair with a medium build and was between 5'5" and 5'9". He spoke English with no accent.

Police say the suspect may have an injury to one his fingers, as a result of this incident.
