Ottawa teens embark on video game marathon to raise money for cancer

Four 15-year-old Ottawa boys are playing video games for a good cause.

Brady McWaters and his friends are taking part in a 72-hour marathon to raise money for cancer.

McWaters told CFRA they've been playing for hours now.

"We're trying to have at least one person playing at all times and just trying to get a little bit of sleep and try to have as normal a schedule as possible, but it's pretty hard to keep that up," said McWaters.

They're live streaming the event on website Twitch.tv, where you can find the link to donate.

"We wanted to raise money for charity, for intestinal cancer and it's just we enjoy playing video games," he said. "We had the idea to do it for charity."

Twitch.tv allows users to stream themselves playing video games.
