Trudeau home intruder won't face charges

Ottawa police confirm the person who entered the home of Liberal leader Justin Trudeau earlier this month will not face charges.

Nothing was taken during the incident, but the intruder did leave a pile of knives and a note warning the homeowners they should lock their doors.

Late last week, police released images from video survellance cameras.

Investigators say the man came forward, and they're convinced he entered the wrong home by mistake.

He's been formally cautioned about his actions.

The back door of the Trudeau residence was unlocked at the time of the incident.

Trudeau's wife and young children were asleep in the home at the time.

Trudeau himself was in Winnipeg.
