City gets demolition permit for property adjacent to old Our Lady School

City Hall is a step closer to getting work underway to preserve heritage elements of the former Our Lady School on Cumberland.

A demolition permit has been issued to take down an adjacent building on Murray owned by Claude Lauzon.

There have been concerns about safety at the site as there have been reports of debris falling from the Murray property.

A memo from staff says work can commence once a building permit for 287 Cumberland has been issued.
