A fire under the Hurdman Bridge is under control, after construction materials were found ablaze Wednesday night.
Fire crews were called to the 417 Eastbound at Nicholas and Riverside on reports of a smoke smell around 8:59 p.m. They found construction materials on fire underneath the bridge. The fire was declared under control within 15 minutes.
But when it came time to check for hotspots, firefighters couldn't get down safely, so the Rope Rescue Team was called in, and they repelled a firefighter down with a heat gun to confirm everything was okay.
No one has been reported hurt.
