Province invests in Ottawa Children's Treatment Centre

The province is committing to invest $400,000 in the Ottawa Children's Treatment Centre every single year.

The money will help reduce wait times and enhance rehab services for children and youth with special needs.

Kathleen Stokely, the CEO of the Ottawa Children's Treatment Centre told CFRA this money will allow them to serve hundreds more families every year.

"It means more front line staff, more therapists, more occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists, physical therapists, social workers able to support and provide service to them and to their families," said Stokely.

The centre already serves around 4,000 clients every year.

Ontario is investing an extra $5 million per year in children's treatment centres in order to expand access to physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech-language therapy for an extra 2,000 kids per year.
