Gatineau toddler quarantined, Ebola test underway

An Ebola test is underway for a three-year-old girl at the Gatineau Hospital.

The toddler had reporting a bad fever after returning from a trip to Sierra Leone with her mother, reports CFRA affiliate NRJ.  The girl has been quarantined pending test results.

The Gatineau hospital says the quarantine and tests are simply precautionary measures.

So far there have been no confirmed cases of the deadly Ebola virus in Canada since the start of an outbreak that’s killed at least 1,400 people in West Africa.
