The elevator at 181 Bruyere is once again up and running.
According to an e-mail from Ottawa Community Housing, it was working properly again as of six o'clock Tuesday evening.
The elevator had been out of service since August 27th, leaving tenants with mobility issues stranded in their homes, many telling CFRA they had no access to groceries or clean laundry.
OCH says an inspection has revealed the cause was an uncommon square seal between a valve and pump unit that had ruptured.
That was followed by several repair complications, including a malfunction during testing, and failed temporary fixes.
OCH says a chairlift had been brought in to help, and staff members were told to stay overnight Tuesday to monitor service and support people who live there.
