Army Run organizers say the public should be aware that there will be loud noises from artillery fire in the downtown core on Sunday morning between 8:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. However, they will not be using live ammunition, and they want to reassure there is no cause for concern.
The Canada Army Run brings thousands of participants who will walk, run, or roll in 5K, 10K, and half marathon events on both Ottawa and Gatineau streets. Crowds of thousands are also expected along the routes to cheer participants on. This is the 11th anniversary of the event in the capital.
