Ottawa Police are investigating after a 23-year-old cyclist was killed in a collision Thursday morning in the downtown core.
She's been identified as Nusrat Jahan, a Willis College student. Media reports say she was the daughter of a Bangladeshi diplomat.
Jahan died after she was struck by a dump truck at the corner of Laurier and Lyon.
Witnesses said she may have been in the driver's blind spot.
The red Tomlinson truck appeared to have been making a wide right turn off of Laurier and onto Lyon when the collision took place.
This is the 5th cyclist that has been involved in a collision this week.
Police are asking any witnesses to come forward.
Willis College posted a message of condolences on their Facebook page late Thursday night.
