The latest trend in traffic calming measures is making its way to the Capital.
Mayor Jim Watson and Alta Vista Ward Councillor Jean Cloutier will be launching a 3D road markings pilot project Friday morning.
The 3D markings can be found mid-block on Othello Dr., between Wingate Dr. and Chapman Blvd.
The City says they’re being piloted as a “temporary traffic calming measure.”
The Montreal borough of Outremont recently painted three 3D crosswalks on the roads. The aim was to get drivers’ attentions using an optical illusion.
3D crosswalks have also popped up in places like China, India, and Iceland.
