Ottawa Police say a 48-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly pulling out a pellet gun against officers in the Glebe.
Police say they were called at around 1:40 p.m. Tuesday to Bank Street and Glebe Avenue on reports of a man in distress who was creating a disturbance.
As he talked with officers, police say he was cooperative at first, but later changed his demeanour and pulled out a gun.
The officers responded by pulling out their own guns. They were able to talk the man into turning over his weapon, which ended up being a pellet gun, and the man was arrested.
Serge LaFrance is facing charges of possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and failure to comply.
He appeared in court Wednesday.
