A motorcyclist is dead, and two others are hospitalized in critical condition, after a collision Autoroute 440 East near kilometre 34.
Provincial police say the accident took place around 9 pm on the eastbound side of the highway.
Construction workers were closing the left lane when a motorcyle carrying a passenger veered around a work truck into the construction zone, hitting a worker and a nearby truck.
The motorcyclist and passenger were thrown from their vehicle.
The driver was pronounced dead on the scene.
The passenger and construction worker were both rushed to hospital in life threatening condition.
SQ spokesperson Stephane Tremblay says speed played a role in the fatal accident.
The 440 East will remain closed from Montée Saint-François while police investigate.
