One of the rainiest months of July in Ottawa history is officially over.
Environment Canada reports 249.8 mm of rain fell at the Ottawa International Airport last month.
That broke the record for wettest July at the Ottawa Airport, beating the previous record of 243.6 mm set in 2009.
But Ottawa missed the July record for wettest month ever of 250.2 mm, set at a little weather station at the Central Experimental Farm in July, 1899.
Ottawa received rain on 18 of 31 days in July. There were three days last month with at least 40 mm of rain.
There is some good news for Ottawa residents.
Environment Canada’s three month outlook predicts Ottawa will see “above normal temperatures” in August, September and October. Rainfall levels are expected to be normal.
