Some City Councillors are backing the idea of the city not holding an outdoor NHL game at Parliament Hill.
The decision to no longer look into that idea came late last week.
Kanata South Councillor Alan Hubley says there's only one logical place to the game to be held.
"You're not going to get as many people on Parliament Hill as you could at TD Place. The security issues are going to be huge for Parliament. Where's everybody going to park? Right from the start to me, it was sentimental or emotional to say Parliament Hill but TD Place made the most sense right from the start."
Hubley says looking at the historical significance of a game coming to Ottawa in 2017, Lansdowne would be the perfect fit for it because that’s the area where the Senators played their first NHL game 100 years ago.
