Asbestos has recently been discovered in several makeup products sold by Claire's.
An asbestos-litigation specialist in Rhode Island, Kristiana Warner, recently decided to have her 6-year-old daughter's makeup tested from Claire's, and found asbestos in one product initially, and later, in 17 samples.
Warner was allegedly in the middle of testing other makeup for a similar analysis when she decided to test her daughter's as well.
Health Canada has since said it is requesting testing data from Claire's Store's Incorporated, which sells jewellry and acessories targeted at young girls.
Though the original complaint came from the U.S., Claire's has confirmed the products were sold in Canada as well, but have been removed from stores since December 22nd.
Health Canada says they're monitoring the situation, ensuring the products remain off the market.
