The inflatable Superdome at Ben Franklin Park will remain closed until early May.
The dome, which deflated last week after a sudden tear, was expected to re-open for business last Friday. However, Rob Knights, the Vice President of TMSI Sports Management, the company that runs the dome, says the weather has been delaying repairs.
"With the rain and the winds and forecast the next couple of days, it was difficult to determine what we needed to do to repair it," says Knights. "We can't do any repairs until the weather is more cooperative."
Knights says the company is working with repair specialists from Calgary to get the dome at the corner of Greenbank and West Hunt Club fixed.
The company is also working with the City of Ottawa to fill the gaps this may have caused to customers, says Knights.
