City officials think Ottawa can avoid any legal claims if users of a proposed mountain biking park in Carlington Park are injured.
Phase One of the facility comes before the Community and Protective Services committee on Thursday for consideration.
But there have been fears the city might be sued in the wake of an Ontario Court of Appeal decision in May that upheld a lawsuit by a 43 year old man in Bruce County.
The man, an experienced mountain biker, suffered a broken neck and paralysis at a county mountain bike park.
But city officials say they've got all the bases covered in the wake of the decision.
The factors listed at court include posting detailed warning signs about the risks, monitoring injuries that do occur to assess safety, and warning riders they should have sufficient skills to progress from one feature to another.
