It's been a favourite hang out for board game enthusiasts - but at the end of the month, the last game pieces will be boxed up for the last time.
After three years, Monopolatte - Ottawa's first board game cafe - is closing its doors for good.
Owner David Narbaitz says they simply could not sustain the operation, on Somerset near Bronson.
'For the past few months, every month, we had to make a decision between paying the staff what they deserve, paying the owners and the upper management what they deserved, and being in the 'black'" Narbaitz told CFRA
The cafe employs nine people.
Narbaitz is welcoming those who frequent the establishment to keep in touch.
