Smith's Falls Brooke Henderson has made history on the green today - as the first Canadian woman in 45 years to win the CP Women's Open.
Henderson is the second Canadian woman to win the coveted title after Jocelyne Bourassa took the event in 1973...then called La Canadienne, at Montreal.
The 20-year-old fired a final round 7 under par 65 to win the national championship by four strokes over American Angel Yin who came in second place with a 68.
Henderson is also the fourth canadian woman or man since 1950 to win an LPGA or PGA tour on home soil.
Henderson has now won seven LPGA tour titles, putting her one behind Sandra Post for the most victories by a Canadian.
