Ontario Provincial Police say a Calgary man has died after a canoe accident in Algonquin Park.
At around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to Little Lake, after a canoe carrying two men and a dog tipped over.
A 56-year-old Ottawa man and the dog were able to make it safely to shore, but the 83-year-old never made it shore. Both men were wearing life jackets.
Merlin Bergeron died at the scene. His body has been recovered. An autopsy will confirm the cause of death.
Police say the death is not considered suspicious and the investigation is not criminal in nature.
